After I obtained my BSc in Medicine I followed a research master in Clinical Epidemiology. I performed my master and PhD research at the department of Epidemiology of the Erasmus MC University Medical Center. Currently, I am following the master in Medicine and finalizing my PhD thesis.
The main focus of my research is on omics data within the field of complex neurological diseases. On one hand, I am working on new omics discoveries, mainly using brain imaging markers. On the other hand, I am using omics discoveries in order to understand the underlying pathophysiology of neurological diseases and related traits. Ultimately, my goal is to translate these omics discoveries to the clinic, e.g. by including them in disease prediction tools.
