Genetic correction of hippocampal volume in dementia prediction
Hippocampal volume is one of the known predictors for dementia. However, part of the variance in hippocampal volume can be explained by genetic factors unrelated to the incidence of dementia, but rather represent developmental factors influencing variance in hippocampal volume. The objective of this study is to improve the predictive value of the hippocampal volume by correcting this volume for genetic variation caused by developmental factors.
