We are very happy to share that Hieab Adams has received the ZonMw Open Competition grant together with his colleagues Raymond Poot and Bas van Steensel. The ZonMw Open Competition is intended for excellent research teams to innovate their research lines in terms of content and collaboration.
They have received the grant for their project called “Identifying causal genetic variants for a better understanding and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders”. The main aim of the project is to systematically identify regulatory variants relevant for neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism to improve their biological understanding and clinical diagnosis. Their hypothesis is that using SuRE technology to enrich for causal SNPs will improve biological understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders and may facilitate genetic diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders.
