About

In 2006, Natalie started Nutrition and Health studies at Wageningen University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2009 and her Master’s degree in 2011. After graduation, Natalie worked several years as an Epidemiologist. In 2014, she started a joint PhD program at the University of Gent in Belgium and The Erasmus University in the Netherlands, under the supervision of prof. Guy Brusselle and prof. Bruno Stricker. Coupled with her PhD Natalie obtained her second master degree in Genetic Epidemiology from the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences.

Currently, Natalie is a postdoctoral researcher at the Precision Epidemiology group and also coordinator for Scientific affairs at the department of Epidemiology, Erasmus Medical Centre, The Netherlands. In the Precision Epidemiology group, Natalie mainly works on genetics and omics-related projects including the genome-wide approaches to unraveling the genetic architecture craniofacial and brain-related phenotypes. Natalie was also actively involved in founding the UNITED consortium and is currently serving as scientific coordinator of this global initiative.
